The process of hajj
'Each of the hundreds who were at the airport to depart for
Jeddah, we were dressed in the same way. Umrah Package December 2017 You could be a king or a peasant and
nobody would know. Some powerful people, who were discreetly prominent, had the
same things that I had. Already dressed in this way, we all began to say
"Labbayka! Allahumma Labbayk! "(At Your service, O Lord!) On the
plane there were white, black, trige, red and yellow people, blue eyes and
blond hair, and my curly hair - all together, like brothers! All honoring the
same God, all honoring ourselves in the same way...
This is when I began to appreciate the 'white man'. It was
when I began to perceive that in the 'white man' the aspect was secondary, that
what mattered were his actions and attitudes. In North America, 'white man'
meant attitudes and actions against the black man and towards every non-white
man. But in the Muslim world, I have seen that white men were as genuinely
brothers as others. That morning was the beginning of a radical alteration in
my point of view towards the 'white man'.
Hence, the pilgrimage unites the Muslims of the world in an
international fraternity. More than a million people perform Hajj every year,
and the rites serve as a unifying force in Islam by bringing followers together
in worship. In some Muslim societies, once the believer made the pilgrimage it
is often called as 'hayyii' ; this, however, is done more than anything by a
cultural custom that by a religious concept. Finally, Hajj is a manifestation
of the belief in the unity of God - all pilgrims worship and obey the orders of
the one God.
