The Ihram

Ihram means having the intention of beginning the rituals of Hajj or 'Umrah.
When the pilgrim wants to enter the state of ihram, he must change his clothes and perform ghusl, like the ghusl that is performed to cleanse him from janabah (impurity left after sexual activity). Then you should place on your head and on your beard any perfume you have available, musk or any other. It does not matter if there are traces of that perfume after the person enters ihram, due to the hadith narrated in al-Sahihayn from 'Aa'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that he said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings) from Allah to descend on him) wanted to enter ihram, perfumed with the best perfume he had, then I could see bright traces of that musk on his head and beard. " Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 271; Muslim, 1190

Performing ghusl upon entering the state of ihram is Sunnah for both men and women, even women who are bleeding after childbirth or who are menstruating, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) he ordered Asma 'bint' Umays to perform ghusl before entering ihram when he was bleeding after childbirth, and to bandage his private parts and enter the state of ihram. Narrated by Muslim, 1209. Then, after performing the ghusl and perfuming, the pilgrim should put on the garments of ihram and - with the exception of women who are bleeding after childbirth or who are menstruating - pray the obligatory prayer if this happens at the time of a mandatory prayer, otherwise, you should pray two rak'ats with the intention of the Sunnah prayer of wudu '. When the pilgrim has finished praying, he must orient himself to the qiblah and enter the state of ihram. You can delay your ihram to board your means of transport, and be ready to move, but you must enter the state of ihram before leaving the miqaat heading towards Mecca.
